About

My name is Will Riley, but I'm known in the development world as 'psychcf.' I have been developing applications for 6 years, and while I would definitely consider Web programming my specialty, I tend stray into other areas of software development from time to time. My favorite languages are JavaScript, and Python, and my frameworks of choice are Dojo and Django (I am a huge proponent of standardized, open source development). I also know PHP, and some basic actionscript and C. Due to the fact that I can learn new frameworks, algorithms, and design pracices quickly, I've been said to be a quick learner. My coworkers, mentors, and acquaintances frequently tell me that I work quickly while still maintaining a high level of quality in my code.

I do lots of work with Open Source Software. In particular, I'm the project maintainer/founder of The Lucid Desktop Project. I have also helped with several other projects in the Open Source community (see below).

I'm not much of a designer, but am definitely an artist. Code is my medium of choice. I write very clean HTML, and am a firm believer that presentation belongs in CSS (take a look at the source code for this page!). I've HTML-ized several different designs before, and all ended up being standards compliant to work cross-browser. I'm also very good at making usable interfaces that create a positive experience for the user.
